Scarborough holds a bachelor of science degree (BS) and a master in Professional Studies (MS) from Missouri State University. Scarborough also is certified in educational leadership in Administration and Supervision.

As a player, Scarborough was a four year starter at Missouri State University. Scarborough was named 2nd team all conference by the Missouri Valley Conference in 2013. Also, Scarborough is ranked Top 3 in school history in total pass break ups (30). Scarborough attended Union High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was a captain on the 2008-09 state championship team. In 2017, Scarborough was inducted into Union Athletic Hall of Fame.

A native of Tulsa, OK, Scarborough and his wife Heather have three children, Kingston (7) , Kash (4) and Kairo (1).
