Micah Haggerty is currently entering his first year on staff at Deer Creek High School, making the move with new offensive coordinator Austin Embrey from Bixby High Schook. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Haggerty is a certified full-time teacher at Deer Creek.
Prior to joining the staff at Deer Creek, Haggerty served as a Defensive Assistant and Freshman Coach at Bixby High School (2023-2025). While at Bixby, the Spartans won state championships both of the years he was tenured there. He also helped lead the freshman team to their first undefeated season in program history (2024).
Haggerty began his football career at Moore High School where he received All-Conference and All-District awards both his junior and senior seasons. He then went on to play Wide Receiver at Tyler Junior College for a season, before transferring to Southern Nazarene University. Later, he transferred to The University of Oklahoma, where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Social Studies Education.
Haggerty was born and raised here in the Oklahoma City area, where his father serves as a teacher and head track coach, while his is mother owns a salon nearby. His youngest brother attends Newcastle Middle School, where he currently holds 2025’s fastest 800m time for a seventh grader in the state of Oklahoma.
