Standley graduated with a Bachelors of Arts Degree from the University of Central Oklahom in 1992. Wade Standley played football at the University of Central Oklahoma where he was a 4 year starter at Linebacker for the Bronchos. His coaching career began as a volunteer coach for Coach Bill Blankenship at Edmond High School then followed Coach Blankenship to Union High School in Tulsa, Ok for the next 7 years before going into Private business. Standley returned to Union High School in 2006 and finished a 3 year stint as the Defensive Coordinator with a 2008 6A State Championship.
Head Coaching Highlights:
"Norman North High School(6A Ok): Standley inherited a 13-year-old program which averaged three wins per year since inception and led them to three State Playoff appearances, the first back-to-back District Championships in school history and the first 6A State Championship Final appearance in school history.
Awards include District 6A-3 Coach of the Year (2012); District 6A-3 Coach of the Year and Norman Public Schools Coach of the Year (2013); selected to coach in the 2014 Under Armor All-American Bowl in Tampa, Florida. Awards include District 6A-3 Coach of the Year (2012); District 6A-3 Coach of the Year and Norman Public Schools Coach of the Year (2013); selected to coach in the 2014 Under Armor All-American Bowl in Tampa, Florida."
"Deer Creek High School(6A Ok): Highlights include first 6A-2 Playoff appearance in school history (2020); Regional Championship, Area Championship, First 6A-2 State Championship Finals appearance in school history (2021); District championship, Regional Championship, State Semifinals appearance (2022); District championship, Regional Championship, State Semifinals appearance (2023); moved up to 6A-1 in May, finished 8-4 with first 6A-1 State playoff appearance, first 6A-1 State playoff victory, and first 6A-1 State Quarterfinal appearance in school history.
Awards include District 6A 2-1 Coach of the Year, Central Oklahoma Conference Coach of the Year(2021), Oklahoman Big All City Coach of the Year, OSSAA Region 8 Coach of the Year (2021); District 6A 2-1 Coach of the Year, Central Oklahoma Conference Coach of the Year (2022); District 6A 2-1 Coach of the Year (2023)

native of Okemah, Oklahoma, Standley and his wife Mindy have been married for 26 years and have two children, Addie Grace(19), and Luke(12).
